CMW Community,

We are hopeful to welcome students and staff back to school on Monday, February 2, 2026, following the recent weather-related closures. We recognize that the number of missed days has been challenging for our school community, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we work to safely resume instruction.

Our custodial team, in close coordination with HCPS Facilities, has worked diligently to clear sidewalks and parking areas in preparation for reopening. We want to thank them for their work to dig us out. As we return, please anticipate some congestion during morning arrival. We kindly ask families and staff to allow extra time, remain patient with auto traffic, buses, and pedestrians, and prioritize a safe and orderly arrival for all.

Due to the school closures this week, adjustments are necessary to the academic calendar. The last day of the second quarter and first semester will be Tuesday, February 3, 2026. This schedule provides one A Day and one B Day to appropriately bring the quarter and semester to a close. Teachers will communicate directly with students regarding expectations and procedures for submitting assignments.

Please continue to follow communications from HCPS for an further information as to getting back to school after the storm.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we navigate these disruptions together. We look forward to seeing the students and teachers back at CMW soon.

Engage for Education Listening Session

Good afternoon, Mustang Families,

Our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive is off to a slow start, and we need your help to make a difference for families in need this holiday season. Each homeroom has been assigned a specific non-perishable food item to collect. Ask your student what item they were assigned, but we will take all donations.

Please consider sending in your student’s assigned item this week. If every student donates just one item, we could collect over 1,300 food items to support our community!

The last day to donate is November 21st.

Thank you for your generosity and support as we work together to make this year’s food drive a success.

Senator Cory McCray Visits C. Milton Wright High School

C. Milton Wright High School recently welcomed Maryland State Senator Cory McCray for an engaging conversation with students about the value of apprenticeships and how hands-on learning can lead to lifelong success.

Senator McCray shared his personal journey as an apprentice with IBEW Local 24, explaining how the experience helped him build a career, support his family, and ultimately discover his passion for leadership and public service.

Students and staff, including Superintendent Dr. Sean Bulson, participated in the discussion while enjoying refreshments from Newberry Café. Each guest received a copy of Senator McCray’s book as a reminder of his message about the importance of hard work, mentorship, and opportunity.
